Management Assessment Report

HannStar Board (called “the Company” hereinafter) have seriously put it into practice in line with the EICC standards since the trial run of EICC-based social responsibility management system. Accordingly, the Company starts to carry out a variety of social responsibility activities to effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of all staff according to social responsibility manual and program files. With the stable implementation of social responsibility management system, the Company has contributed to good economic and social synergies. Owing to the implementation of EICC social responsibility management system, the Company’s employee satisfaction rate has resulted in a significant improvement. Furthermore, the Company has set up the unions, fully reflecting the company’s social responsibility policies and goals to be effective and the daily operation is normal.


First: The audit of internal social responsibility management system
The company plans to take the internal audit of 2013 in April 20, 2013. The said censorship conducted by the internal audit team involves those key elements of EICC standards covered.

Second:The suitability and accomplishment of policy and objective

1.The censorship of policy
The Company’s social responsibility policy mainly involves labor standards, health and safety, environment, management systems, ethics regulations and so on. Specifically, those include respecting the free choice right of occupation and association; no using child labor; regulated working hours per week (including overtime) no more than 60 hours on a weekly basis and/or one day off per week as the least minimum requirement; full payment on a timely basis ; humane treatment to employees and no discrimination against any employee; protecting safety; structuring contingency plans and response measures; the prevention of occupational injuries and diseases; caring environment and conserving resources; improvement of the management system; business integrity and fair trade, no seeking improper interests; making information public and transparent : protection of intellectual property; protection of staff identity; proactive participation in community activities. The management takes an in-depth discussion over social responsibility related issues with consent and consensus that the social responsibility best-suit to its own best-case scenario and upcoming development. The management hereby agree that all staff are made aware of the requirement and spirit of social responsibility policy.

2.Status update over the achievement of the social responsibility goals
The Company’s social responsibility goals have made a significant progress under the guidance of social responsibility, so as to protect the legitimate rights of employees. With this in place, the Company shape up the culture of ” business integrity, entrepreneurial spirit, respecting for the individual, service-oriented, in search of excellence”. And the Company also establish a goal of ” energy-saving policy to reduce carbon emissions, environmental protection, safety and health first”. Consequently, the Company improved the management system step by step towards excellence. Some measures have been taken that bear social responsibility initiatives such as the donation for the disaster-ravaging areas, facilitating poor children back to school, establishing caring schemes with the neighboring schools, etc. Above-mentioned activities comply with the purpose of social responsibility.

Third: Although not have the Company received customer complaints thus far since the social responsibility management system implementation, but all departments are still required to pay highly attention. The key that the response the neighboring communities appears to be positive lies in the enhancing controllability of the social responsibilities that meet the requirements of total staff satisfaction.

Fourth: At present, the Company has developed and implemented the social responsibility management system and filing system which are proved to meet the EICC standards, the Company’s actual best-case scenario and customer requirements, also the service requirements for all employees. The Company now has to seriously implement it to achieve the purpose of continuous improvement onwards.

Fifth: Along with the company’s ongoing expansion, the demand for equipment and human resources will gradually increase accordingly. As a consequence, the Company must take necessary measures to prohibit the use of child labor and compelled labor. The Company shall also stick to safety, respecting the free right of association, promoting communication between trade unions and management, no discrimination and punitive measures against employees allowed, execute equal pay between male and female workers, implementing the provisions of the labor time strictly and paying wages on time.

Sixth: The Company shall incorporate it into the control of the social responsibility management system in the company’s future development planning that maintains the system integrity and comprehensiveness.

The following comments concluded upon Management Review

1.The test run of the EICC system appears to be pretty much on the right track thus far. It obviously shows a positive prospect in improvement of the quality of service across all staff and also the healthy development of the company’s image in the foreseeable future. The Company will continue to improve the welfare of all staff and create greater economic and social synergies.

2.The Company will hire more caliber staff along with the development of business, and enhance the quality of existing staff through the in-depth on-the-job orientation.

3.The major challenging tasks down the road are hence all the departments are yet required to be made fully aware of these standards on a continual manner. Specifically, the onwards related remedy and corrective actions are in need and brought up to continuously bridge the gap between what is executed and what is required.

Seventh: Long-term evolution: the Company shall proactively fulfill the upfront social obligations, aiming at continuous improvement system and intensifying staff satisfaction.
